AI That Takes Action
A chatbot answers questions. An AI agent goes further — it can take actions: search the web, write code and run it, send emails, or book a flight. It's like the difference between giving someone advice and actually doing the task for them.

An Agent's Toolbox
A person gets smarter with tools — a map, a phone, a calculator. Agents are the same. On its own, an AI can only talk. Give it tools, and it can act. A web search tool lets it look up fresh information. A calculator tool means no more maths slips. A calendar tool lets it add events. A code tool lets it write a little program and actually run it. Before each step, the agent picks the right tool — the way you'd pick scissors instead of a spoon for cutting paper. And here's the important bit: an agent can only use the tools it's been given. No tool, no action. That's one way humans keep agents on a safe leash.
